Our Commitment to Ending Child Poverty: An Interfaith Guide to End Child Poverty

The President of Arigatou International, Rev. Keishi Miyamoto, once stated that extreme poverty is the most extensive form of violence in the world; and it claims an enormous number of lives worldwide and leaves the survivors with unbearable and endemic suffering. Estimates of 1 billion children across the world live in poverty today; that is one out of every two children. It was because of such severe situations that the Interfaith Initiative to End Child Poverty (End Child Poverty), a global initiative of Arigatou International, decided to develop an Interfaith Guide to equip duty bearers with knowledge, skills and attitudes to help End Child Poverty.

The primary aim of the Resource Guide is to mobilize Faith-inspired resources to end child poverty. The Guide also explores the potentials and resources which faith communities and organizations can use to end poverty. These include: their spiritualvalues, social capital and moral assets. By working together in partnership with like-minded organizations, Arigatou International believes in mobilizing resources to reduce poverty at grassroots and global level.
