In Bukavu, South Kivu, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Laissez L’Afrique Vivre (LAV) organised a 2-day event with the local theme “Tuamuwe Sote Na Kutenda Ili Tupiganishe Umaskini Katika Jamaa Zetu na kwa Congo yetu Nzima.” (Let Us Decide and Act Together to Fight Poverty In Our Community and the Entire Democratic Republic of Congo).

The event included a plenary discussion; an art exhibition; experience-sharing; theater performances, as well as traditional and modern dances by youth in vocational training at LAV; and awareness and advocacy through 1 local radio and 1 television station. 88 people took part in the event, including 20 children and 35 youth, who were victims of sexual violence and conflict.
