Amani Village of Hope - Kenya

During the International day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP), Rev. Kenneth Wachianga took the initiative to visit a neglected family living in Sinderma Village in Gem Sub County, Siaya County (Western Kenya). Due to poverty and poor hygiene, the family of 4 children and a single-mother, had gone hungry for days and were badly infected with jiggers on both their arms and feet – the children could not walk properly as a result and were crawling on the elbows and knees in order to move from place to place. Through the Amani Village of Hope (VH), Rev. Wachianga rescued the family and welcomed them to AVH, where they were given basic medical attention, including removing the jiggers, deworming, nutritious food and short-term accommodation. Rev. Wachianga is now seeking long-term support for the family and the means to assist the mother of four to generate sustainable income.
