REJADH-Burundi has, since 2016, initiated children and young people to advocate for the promotion and protection of their rights and especially by fighting against gender-based violence. Thus, at different times, REJADH Burundi has celebrated important events by focusing its activities on advocacy for awareness raising and policy change on the rights of women and children and the impact of GBV in the lives of women and children.
In Comoros, the Conseil De La Paix (CAP) led by Mr. Akim Said, celebrated the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on the 17th October, by conducting debates for school students, sales and exhibitions of home-made products by women and youth at Moroni Foyer Des Femmes. The one day event facilitated by CAP was organized in an attempt to raise the concern of resource mobilization to fund youth and women projects to fight against child poverty. More than (300) people participated in the event.
The Cry of A Young One (TCOAYO), a Community Based Organization (CBO) serving Mathare North and the greater Ruaka area in Nairobi, works with children and youth from affected by and living in poverty. It trains them and helps them to manage their arts and sports talents, in addition to offering peace education
GNRC representative in Malaysia, Shazmin, in Collaboration with I CAN Malaysia launched Art and Craft classes for refugee children on the 21st October 2017 to commemorate International Day of Eradication of Poverty. The program is an ongoing project for the year 2017/2018 targeting the Refugee children in Rohingya. The classes are to be conducted in Darul Eslah Rohingya Academy. The project would be effective as it uses art to encourage children to think, develop their skills and build confidence amongst themselves
For a period covering two months, (October 15th–December 20th 2017), GNRC Romania in partnership with UNESCO commission for Romania, Elle Association, conducted various workshops focusing on child poverty, under the topic “moving from humiliation and exclusion to participation”. More than 800 participated in the workshops. Faith and religious leaders were also present.
