INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY (IDEP) – 17 OCTOBER

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) is a global awareness event celebrated every year on 17 October. It is an opportunity for reflection, advocacy and action to end child poverty and all other forms of poverty. This 2018 IDEP theme is: “Coming together with those furthest behind to build an inclusive world of universal respect for human rights and dignity”. It looks to recall the fundamental connection between extreme poverty and human rights, and that people living in poverty are disproportionately affected by many human rights violations.
