Water and Sanitation at Amani Children Development Centre.
End Child Poverty (ECP) partnered with the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC) in facilitating the construction of a borehole at the Amani village of hope children’s home, which caters for approximately one hundred orphaned and vulnerable children in western Kenya.
A clean water system is of value to the institution and the community around it. The availability of water via the borehole will ensure that children at the Centre channel the time they use for fetching water to other useful activities as well as have adequate time for their studies. The borehole is also a boon to the safety of the girls who will no longer risk sexual violence by sex predators roaming the narrow footpaths to the stream.
