Inspiring Faith to Accelerate Progress Towards the SDGs
Arigatou International – End Child Poverty will co-convene the Africa Faith Actors Consultation in Nairobi, Kenya on 6th September 2023. The consultation will be held under banner of the Africa Interfaith Initiative on the SDGs (AFLI) – a collaborative platform of 25 organizations that promotes the involvement of faith communities and leaders in shaping the development agenda.
The consultation, dubbed the Pre-Summit aims to leverage the expertise, experiences, and collective strength of Africa Faith voices to inspire faith and hope, promote moral and spiritual imperatives, and amplify African voices at the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit.
The 2023 SDG Summit of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), will serve as a critical platform to review and follow up on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 SDGs.
The Pre-Summit will bring together 60 representatives of AFLI participating organizations including Faith Leaders, Women, Children and Youths, and 20 representatives of partners from religious communities and other faith-based organizations, UN agencies, governments and civil society.
