During the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Global Network of Religions for Children in Romania held a two part project,on the 17 October 2016.
The first part of their project included a symposium on poverty held in Bucharest and four other towns in the country. The symposium reflected on social realities; consequence of cognitive, emotional & material poverty, in attendance were 400 students, 40 teachers, priests, social assistants, psychologists and volunteers. Modules were handed out by the social assistance specialist as a toolkit ,to those in attendance as part of making the initiative more efficient in eradicating child poverty. In the second part of the workshop the students held a brainstorming session, with the students exploring the best approach to ; providing solutions on meeting children’s emotional, spiritual and material needs in eradicating child poverty.
