Arigatou International Launches the End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre

The 2014 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) marked the launch of Arigatou International’s End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre. The launch was hosted by and organised in collaboration with Sarvodaya, on 17 October 2014, during a public advocacy event held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

During this launch, faith–inspired groups, development organisations, global, regional and national civil society organisations, United Nations Agencies, educators and multi-lateral organisations  participating in the event, committed to engaging in pragmatic action to end child poverty.

The End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre has since grown into a global, faith-inspired hub for research, resource gathering, networking, experience sharing and knowledge dissemination. It mainly serves to build the capacities of organisations and individuals working towards ending child poverty in the world.

The End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre has both a virtual presence on our website and a physical presence, with a site based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Through the Knowledge Centre, we have organised activities in collaboration with Sarvodaya and the Global Network of Children (GNRC) members in Sri-Lanka including child protection and child safety programs. The End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre has also been critical for academic research.

Since its launch, the Knowledge Centre has been, without doubt, a big resource not only for our IDEP Campaign, but also to ending child poverty at large.
