Arigatou International in collaboration with members of the of the Moral Imperative to End Extreme Poverty will host a virtual Civil Society Organization (CSO) session at the World Bank/IMF annual meetings Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF). The one and half hour session will take place on 8th October 2021, starting 9:00AM Washington D.C time.
The session will explore and surface evidence on the complex interactions between faith and crises and how faith communities deploy considerable assets to grow resilience, and build human capital better in the wake of COVID-19 and the climate emergency. It will also seek to update and restate the Moral Imperative’s commitment to overcoming extreme poverty and inequality through inclusive and holistic human capital development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework as blue prints for global emergencies in health, climate and economic recovery.
The Moral Imperative is a global faith-based platform to end extreme poverty and realize the SDGs. It was established in 2015 and works by building evidence, advocacy and collaboration between faith and development actors including the United Nations and the World Bank Group. Arigatou International has chaired the Advocacy Working Group of the Moral Imperative for the last four years and is also a member of the Research Reference Group convened by the World Bank. Our engagement in the Moral Imperative provides us a global space to advance the agenda of ending child poverty.
