International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, 17th October 2016

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty marked on the 17 October recognizes that poverty results not from the lack of just one thing but from many different interrelated factors that affect the lives of people living in poverty.

The theme this year being – Moving from humiliation and exclusion to participation: Ending poverty in all its forms.

This means we must go beyond seeing poverty merely as the lack of income or what is necessary for material well-being — such as food, housing, land, and other assets – in order to fully understand poverty in its multiple dimensions.

If you are planning to take action during this IDEP or within the month of October, kindly let us know so that we can share this information widely. Write to us, visit our website and connect with us on Facebook and Twitter.
