The International Day of Peace is marked on 21 September, every year, all over the world. We use this date as an opportunity to remind the world that conflict affects children in the most and worst way. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. We support and coordinate common actions in collaboration with our partners.
Jeremy Gilley, actor turned film-maker and founder of the non-profit, Peace One Day, began the journey to build a movement for peace in the late 90s. Blood of Your Child
In December 2013, political infighting erupted into violence spreading across like wildfire in South Sudan. Almost 8 million people are in need of aid, and 4.6 million people are on the edge of starvation. Without peace, families will remain in hiding away from their homes and their land. Families will die from starvation, malnutrition and disease.
