Meeting the Moral Imperative to End Extreme Poverty and Realize the SDGs

Evidence, Advocacy and Collaboration.

End Child Poverty participated at the World Bank Group – United Nations co-sponsored event themed, Meeting the Moral Imperative to End Extreme Poverty and Realize the SDGs on 24th September 2015. The public event highlighted the critical role of faith organizations, alongside other development partners, to help end extreme poverty and realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During this event, faith leaders introduced a Faith-Based Action Framework to End Extreme Poverty and Realize the SDGs, which was organized around three pillars: Evidence, Advocacy and Collaboration. The resultant three working groups were created to advance and support implementation of this Framework. Arigatou Internationals, End Child Poverty and Prayer and Action for Children will be part of the Advocacy and Collaboration, and strategic working group’s respectively.

The event helped to establish a precedent in which the contributions of faith-inspired organizations are better understood and more concerted efforts are made to build effective partnerships from the onset of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
