News on IDEP by End Child Poverty

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) is a day for awareness, activism, and advocacy actions against poverty, marked every year on 17th October.

This year’s 2020 IDEP theme is, “Acting Together To Achieve Social And Environmental Justice For All”.

Social and environmental justice ensures a world in which the rights and wellbeing of all children are upheld and protected. By working towards social and environmental justice, communities have the opportunity to address the underlying root causes of child poverty, at a structural level. It will also enable communities to tackle the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on children.

End Child Poverty invites you and other partners across the globe to take part in commemorating IDEP, 17th October 2020, by:

  1. Promoting awareness on child poverty and how to address it, through online communication, organising forums and hosting other such related events.
  2. Carrying out advocacy and lobbying so that child poverty can be addressed as a priority concern at grassroots, national and global community levels.
  3. Initiating community actions towards ending child poverty.
