Our Campaigns
We run as well as take part in campaigns aimed at amplifying, solidifying, and widening our efforts towards alleviating child poverty.
Through these campaigns, we aim but not limited to:
- Promote awareness on child poverty, through online messaging, public forums and other such events.
- Promote advocacy, calling decision makers and policy influencers to task, so that child poverty can be addressed as a priority concern at a local community, national and global level.
- Accompany and support grassroots actions towards ending child poverty.
End Child Poverty has mobilised communities, including members of the GNRC, to commemorate the global October 17th International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP), every year since our secretariat was established in 2013. We do so with the aim to advance increased awareness, advocacy and other relevant community actions tackling child poverty. Over the years we have developed a comprehensive campaign that ties in all these actions through short-term concerted efforts, under the umbrella, “Together We Can End Child Poverty Worldwide”. This campaign running from mid-September to end of October each year, notable outcomes include the launch of the End Child Poverty Knowledge Centre, organising 5 international photo contests, and mobilising grassroots commemorative actions in more 25 countries.
The ECP@10 Campaign, themed, “All Out to End Child Poverty: Looking Back, Forging Ahead”, is a celebration of our 10th anniversary since our inception at the GNRC Fourth Forum in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania in 2012. In addition to celebrating this milestone (10th anniversary) ECP@10 provides an opportunity to celebrate global progress made towards overcoming child poverty over the last 10 years; share our collective journey and stories; appreciate End Child Poverty champions and welcome others to join us in this work; and, advance knowledge relevant to ending child poverty.
