Sudan social cohesion initiative
The Sudan Social Cohesion initiative was developed to support work by faith actors, through the Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) and Sudan Interreligious Council (SIRC), in strengthening social cohesion and promoting Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), and the rights of faith minorities in Sudan. It aims to contribute to overall peace and harmonious living across the country, through interfaith action. Through this initiative, we specifically seek to promote peace in Sudan by fostering interfaith and socio-cultural interaction among religious leaders, youth, children and women.
Ensuring children’s participation and meaningful engagement in this work, has been a key outcome for End Child Poverty; where we facilitated formation of Peace clubs in schools in Sudan.
