Ms. Maria Lucia Uribe Torres
Ms. Maria Lucia Uribe Torres is the Secretary General, Interfaith Council for Ethics Education and the Director, Arigatou International – Geneva. Maria Lucia provides strategic leadership, coordinates and manages the Ethics Education for Children – a global initiative of Arigatou International. In addition she develops partnerships and international engagement with UN agencies and other child-rights focused organizations.
Ms. Uribe Torres has served as Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator for Education and Fragility for the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), based at UNHCR in Geneva, Switzerland. She was in charge of coordinating the implementation of the strategic work plan of a Working Group on Education and Fragility, composed of 29 international agencies; and for providing technical support and expertise on issues relating to education, conflict and peacebuilding within INEE. Prior to her engagement with INEE, she worked with Arigatou International for five years as the Program Officer of the Ethics Education for Children program based in Geneva.
